Eve, Zvichanzi Nyemba is a seasoned political scientist with expertise on Foreign Policy, International Humanitarian and Refugee Law, Natural Disasters, Environmental Change and Forced Migration, Public Resources Management (PRM), Democracy, Elections, Gender and Development, Social and Economic Justice. She holds a PhD in Political Studies (University of Johannesburg), an MSc in International Relations (University of Zimbabwe - UZ) and a BSc Honours Degree in Politics and Administration(UZ). She has over 10 years’ experience teaching, training, and researching at leading Universities in Africa, particularly, the University of Zimbabwe and Africa University. Her wide experience, has seen her conduct research and consultancies for organisations like The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), Varieties of Democracy (V-DEM) Institute project (based at the department of political science, University of Gothenburg, Sweden), Zimbabwe Environmental Law Association (ZELA), Zimbabwe Gender Commission (ZGC) and Election Resource Centre Africa (ERC Africa). Eve has worked in the civil society sector managing grants on Domestic Resource Mobilization (DRM), Trade Justice, Livelihoods and Climate Change. She annually co-ordinated the Gender Cluster at the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Peoples Summit from 2020 to 2022 leading advocacy for increased women participation in politics, natural resource and economic governance in Southern Africa. Eve’s growing professional profile has earned her invitations as an esteemed speaker at various Forums, the most recent, being the 2024 Economic Outlook and Business Prospects Forum (EOBPF) which was conducted on the 30th of January 2024 in Harare. The speaking opportunity focused on the topic – Navigating Headwinds: Domestic & Regional Prospects. She was a recent Panellist on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) at the Howard University of African Studies International Conference held in Washington DC from 12-13 March 2024 . The conference brought together policymakers, business leaders, civil society activists, and Pan-African advocates of various fields of interests and expertise. Eve is the Director of Zane Publishing with over 17 publications to her name. Her publication, Paradise Stories, was nominated for Outstanding Children’s Book for the 2018th National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) edition (Zimbabwe) and approved by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Zimbabwe) as a reading resource for children in 2018. Eve recently published and launched, The Meditations of A Worshipper and Look Within on 1 December 2023.
